Three strong performances in Berlin

Three of our fighters competed in UFC Berlin May 31. In the first fight heavyweight Viktor Pesta lost a close decision to Ruslan Magomedov. This was Pestas first loss in his career, but he will only learn from this and come back stronger.

Next up was Magnus Cedenblad who fought the undefeated polish star Kryztof Jotko. Cedenblad showed who’s the man and got a submission victory late in the 2nd round. Very late. Only one second left on the clock.

Then it was time for the main card and our big talent and new UFC signee Niklas Bäckström who fought finnish vet Tom Niinimäki. A fight that 24 years old Bäckström accepted on only two weeks notice. After a even first couple of minutes the swede proved why he’s considered to be a star in the making. Bäckström tapped Niinimäki out with a modified rare naked choke, also called a schoolyard/ or bulldog choke.

Both Bäckström and Cedenblad also got a perfomance bonus, 50.000 dollar, each.

A great night of fights and perfomances. Mano Management fighters delivers once again.

Mano Management signs David Bielkheden

We are proud to announce that we’ve signed the 34 year old welterweight David Bielkheden. Bielkheden is one of Swedens most experienced fighters with a total of 31 pro fights and the only one who’ve competed in both Pride and UFC.

David has fought very tough names in his career. He is now riding a two fight winning streak. His last opponent was former UFC fighter Besam Yousef. A fight David won clearly by decision.

We want to welcome David Bielkheden to Mano Management and hope to achive great things together.

Niklas Bäckström signed by UFC

Featherweight Niklas Bäckström has finally been signed with UFC. He steps in on short notice to fight Finlands Tom Niinimäki in Berlin May 31. After Niinimäkis first opponent, Thiago Tavares got hurt, a social media campaign began, and just one day later Bäckström got the call.

Bäckström is one of Sweden’s most talented fighters with a 7 wins and 0 losses. Bäckström is a lanky fighter with great kicks and wrestling. In his last fight in Mars he knocked out the german Max Coga in only 15 seconds with a frontkick.

Bäckströms opponent, Tom Niinimäki, is a veteran of the sport and made his pro debut in 2002. This matchup is the first in UFC between Sweden and Finland.

Also fighting on the same card is Magnus Cedenblad and Viktor Pesta.

Andreas Ståhl vs Viscardi Andrade

The wait is over. The talanted Andreas Ståhl is finally going to make his debut on July 26 in San Jose, USA. His opponent is the brazilian Viscardi Andrade, who lost to our Nico Musoke in February.

The 25 year old Ståhl is a talented wrestler with strenght like no other one. His record is 9 wins and 0 losses. We last saw Andreas fight in september against Veselin Dimitrov in Denmark. A fight he won by TKO (punches). He was scheduled to make his debut last december against Tristars Alex Garcia, but was forced to withdraw with a injury. Now Ståhl is redo to make a mark in the UFCs welterweight division.

Here are some links to news about the matchup in swedish tabloids:

Nico Vs Gastelum

Nico Musoke Vs Kelvin Gastelum in Texas

Our welterweight Nicholas Musoke, also called “Nico”, will square off against former TUF-winner Kelvin Gastelum in the co-main event for UFC Fight Night in San Antonio, Texas in June. This is a big fight between two prospects, and the winner gets closer to cracking into the top ten rankings.

Musoke got his UFC chance when he stepped in to fight Alessio Sakara on short notice last fall. A fight that earned the Swede a “Submission Of The Night” when he finished Sakara via armbar in the first round. Musoke also got a victory in his second fight against Viscardi Andrade in Brazil this February. The match against Gastelum will be “Nicos” third UFC appearance.

Gastelum last fight was against the very tough Rick Story in March, a fight he won by split decision. The 22 year old american is still undefeated with a record at 8-0.

The fight between Musoke and Gastelum takes place in San Antonio, Texas, June 28.

Cedenblad och Pesta to fight in Berlin

UFC-middleweight Magnus “Jycken” Cedenblad will fight against undefeated polish star Kryzstof Jotko in Berlin at UFC Fight Night 42 in Berlin May 31. This will be Cedenblads third fight in UFC and a opportunity to get his second win for the top promotion. “Jycken” last fought Jared Hamman at UFC 164. A fight he won by guillotine choke in the first round after only 57 seconds. His opponent Jotko have 14 straight wins and made his UFC-debut against Bruno Silva in Australia in December.

Cedenblad trains at Allstars gym with fighters like Alexander Gustafsson, Nico Musoke and Ilir Latifi. A victory will definitely catapult him up in the middleweights rankings.

On the same fightcard our heaviweight Viktor Pesta will make his debut in UFC taking on Ruslan Magamedov. A important fight for 23 year old Pesta who’s aiming for his 10th straight win.

Reza “Maddog” Madadi vs. Efrain Escudero

Our lightweight star Reza “Maddog” Madadi have found himself a opponent for the upcoming titlefight at Superior Challenge X. And it will be the former The Ultimate Fighter season 8 winner Efrain Escudero who will challenge Madadi for the belt.

Reza has not competed since last spring when he defeated Michael Johnson via submission in the third round at UFC Stockholm 2013. Escuderos record stands at 28-8 and with a totalt of 7 UFC-fights.

This will be a great fight for Reza to really show who is the top dog at lightweight outside of UFC.

The event takes place May 3 in Helsingborg, Sweden. Tickets are still available here.
